Join us as we Journey Towards the Cross
Superheroes are all the rage in today’s pop culture. From Wonder Woman and Flash to Supergirl and Iron Man, the world seems to be longing for a team of Superheroes to swoop in and save the day!
As believers, we know that there’s no need for a Superhero contingent. We don’t have to wonder if help is on the way! The work has been done, the Hero has come, and the battle is already won. The True Hero, in the person of Jesus Christ, has come and will come back.
In fact, we all have been given a touch of the super hero serum in order to do good while we wait for the ultimate Hero’s return! In today’s culture, we attribute to superheroes the characteristics needed for success: strength, power, might, speed, force. We work hard to attain all these things in our lives, in our careers, in our world. But the True Hero, the Messiah, actually turned the tables on the characteristics for which we should strive.
The 2019-20 school year has seen the staff and students at Restoration Academy digging deeper into the fruits of the spirit: six students who have decided to love Jesus with their whole heart; the joy of having a new building for fine arts and classroom space; the patience of our amazing elementary staff loving on our youngest students; the kindness of two over-seas mission trips taking our students to far away places to share the Gospel this spring; the goodness found in the freedom to open the word of God each day with our students; the faithfulness of over 100 men and women who come and tutor our students every week; the gentleness of 32 small group leaders who disciple students every other week; and, the amazing self-control and perseverance of our 16 seniors finishing strong before they launch into college.
Over the next eight days, we will be posting a daily devotional compiled for you to use during Holy Week. We hope it blesses your journey with Jesus towards the empty tomb .
